I put this in Sports section, but if you don't want "Pro Wrestling" in this section since most of us should know it's scripted and fake, then can it be moved to elsewhere? Thanks!

I just realized today, it's the 10th anniversary of Owen Hart's tragic fall on May 23rd 1999. He dedicated his life to Pro Wrestling and it also caused him his life unfortunately. My favorite: Bret Hart, his older brother and Pro Wrestling Legend, must be feeling a world of pain once again over this.

If you want to pay tribute and give memory for Owen or any others who lost their lives this is a good thread to do so.

Here's an *incomplete* list of people who lost their lives either in or out of the squared-circle, if you have others then feel free to mention him/her.:

I'd just add Nancy and Chris Benoit to that list..
(One of the strangest stories I ever heard with those 2..)

Here in the Uk in '93 my buddy Sap was staying at the same
travel lodge hotel when Sid vicious stabbed Arn Anderson for real..
Funny thing is he never realised it until it hit the newspapers!

Growing up in Stamford, CT (Headquarters of the WWE), I ran into a lot of those guys out and about, including Hulk Hogan and Andre The Giant. Some of the lesser known gorillas liked to go to the after hours bar down the street from WWE HQ (one of the many places I wasted my free time in) and beat the hell out of folks like me for no good reason.

But no, they're not all bad. R.I.P. to the good ones.

I remember watching the PPV when Owen died. I just remember it going to a video package promoting his upcoming match and when the live feed came back it was blacked out with just audio.

A few years ago me and a buddy of mine used to fly to watch Raw/Smackdowns. We both worked for the air line and could see who was going to be on whatever flight we were trying to get on so we'd find one with the most wrestlers. We flew back from Detroit after one show and were up in first class when all the wrestlers were boarded at the last second. We were up there with Rakishi (had two seats to himself) and Mic Foley. Funny thing about Foley, when he got on the plane he dressed just like he does for shows in those sweat pants and flannel shirt. He also had all his clothes in a black garbage bag lol.

A bunch of others were in coach class. I remember Hardcore Holley and Steve Blackmon being on there.

Used to see Benoit down here from time to time in the grocery store. Shame about him and his family.

While all the deaths are tragic, the one about Owen Hart simply stands-out as I'd say one of the worst, such a bad way to go, in-front of live audience and live-TV, and with 1 wife then widow, 2 young infants, and 1 brand new dream home hardly or not even used.

Of coarse this didn't change who my favorite wrestler as that's not my kind of reaction, but this also made much bad impact on my favorite Bret Hart, and I felt like I could feel HIS pain, almost.

Never saw even a blurry or censored segment of Owen's disaster, never searched for it, never felt an urge to.
